After graduating from the University of Virginia, I received a small stipend to help construct the OUTin house, which I had helped design the previous semester. This stipend allowed me to spend the first six months after graduation working on the OUTin house with my fellow team members. The first few months were spent constructing the modules in an airport hangar outside of town.

After the modules were sufficiently complete, they were transported to the site in the Fifeville neighborhood. All eight modules were transported and placed in a day and a half.

The next few months were spent completing the interiors and exteriors of the house.

Over the course of construction, I participated in the construction of the modules using structurally insulated panels for the walls and roof, the installation of windows, trim, drywall, siding and cabinetry, as well as the fabrication of the bay window and decks.
